Are there currently any plans to make a separate GTK GUI for Bongos? I'm reading through some guides on PyGTK right now, and might be able to pick up some GTK GUI development for it when the time comes, if that's a viable feature.
Could call the fork Gongos.

Obviously a consistent look across all platforms is desirable, so the GTK GUI would be based off the KDE version, but obviously using all the tools that available to GNOME.

That was generally my concern. A QT app will run perfectly well in Gnome, thus making a GTK-based GUI unnecessary. It would end up being a fork of the project as well, since the code would have to change dramatically. It's far, far too early to fork, and there's no real reason to.

Yeah the UI will probably use GTK on the GNOME flavor. 
Incidentally, we most likely will be using PyGTK as well since commons will be mostly python-based, so yeah, if you could help with the GNOME team on that, that would be ace.
